Would culture even exist without ads and marketing? So much of what our culture is is composed of commercial advertisement. What lotion, house, cars, or food we use is based on what company can advertise it the best. If we didn’t have someone telling the consumer what to purchase, would we buy any of it? Yes, we would still need to buy food, clothes, etc but our purchases would solely be based on our opinions, not what we’ve been advertised. After 8 weeks at my internship, I couldn’t imagine how the world would function without marketing and advertising - especially living in America. America became so popular because of it’s advertising. In the early days, people across the globe were shown images and tapes of our freedom. Tapes of Broadway NYC, pretty girls dancing along the street, and images of families relaxing on the beach or taking a road trip throughout the canon. Who wouldn’t want to move to America after seeing all that? When you think about it like this, what part of our life hasn’t been advertised? Think about it. Now, how much of your life would be different if this industry did not exist?
