I love lunch time, it might easily be the best part of the day. My boss usually lets me get lunch whenever I feel like I need a break or in general whenever I feel like it. Unlike school, it’s nice to be able to eat when my body actually wants to and not have to eat nasty cafeteria food. I get to pick whatever point I want throughout the day and just spend some time with myself. I get to sit in peace and quiet and enjoy nothing else but my lunch and my own thoughts. I think about my internship, life, college, graduation, so it’s a good way for me to detach from busy work and focus on other aspects in my life. I also like lunch because I can also choose not to have it. Most of the time I’m not hungry by the standard lunch time, so instead I’ll stay at my internship and get all my work done and get to leave early. This is by far the best difference between school and work. At school, I could finish all of my work thoroughly, clearly and well but still have to sit through a class where I’m just going to space out anyway. But at work, I can get all my work done in the same efficient way and then get to leave and continue the rest of the day. I think that’s what school forgets about, ya know, the rest of your life. At my internship, when I’m done, there isn’t homework or any of that nonsense. I get to continue other parts of my life and get other things done, with less stress.
Lunch time is the best time.
