The only other person I work with at my internship is my boss. My boss, Mike, is a young, white male, who has started his own business, On The Dot Marketing. He has started the business on his own, and I can see that he invests most of his time into growing the business. The attitude towards his job seems to be that he really does care about the work he is doing for his clients. For example, when Mike assigns me a new project for a new client, he spends about 20 minutes going through all the Ins and Outs of what the client wants us to project for their business. Mike, thoroughly explains the importance of keeping all client information secure, and goes through step by step how to make sure we are providing our clients with proper, and safe social media marketing techniques. To me, Mike seems truly driven by his work and his business is doing extremely well for just opening up about a year ago. What I like about Mikes attitude towards the job, is that if he does not necessarily agree with one aspect that the company wants us to advertise, he tries to find the most efficient way to get across information to the public that the clients wants without jeopardizing the image of the clients company, from the public's perspective. This is what I mean when I say Mike actually cares about the work he is doing. With a Marketing and Advertising company, an air of respect doesn’t go unnoticed. What’s great about this business, is that your clients automatically trust and respect you. With their own research, clients find Marketing and Advertising companies that will best suit their needs. This means that when you meet with a client you are basically looking at a person who is asking you to make their business better and more money. The client, will always respect you because they are putting their companies advertising and money in your hands, which is a very important part in making a business really thrive for everything that is it worth. I feel that this is why most people in the marketing and advertising world, don’t see their job as “just a job.” Not only is it fun, exciting, and busy, but you are truly doing something great for other people. By helping clients businesses thrive, you’re making someone's life a better on. Business is important, and when it’s going good people are happy and the more happy people their are in the world, the better it is for everyone else.
